40cm strand (approximately 38 beads) of chalcedony round beads, each bead is approximately 9.8mm x 10mm. These translucent chalcedony beads have been heated to high temperatures and then quenched in ice cold water to create a 'chicken-wire' crackle effect, also allowing them to absorb the pink coloured dye. Chalcedony is believed to be a stone that encourages nurturing and companionship, helping to absorb negative energy and promote group stability. Despite being composed of many tightly packed interlocking crystals, chalcedony quartz readily takes dyes, allowing for the many fun and unusual colours that are available. With a hardness of 7, quartz is one of the most abundant minerals on earth. It comes in a variety of colours and in two main groups: crystalline and cryptocrystalline (comprising of chalcedony etc). Please note that colours and sizes within semi-precious gemstones vary slightly from strand to strand.
