Crystal Christmas Angel: Project Instructions
Crafted from glass crystal, swarovski crystal and metal beads, this Christmas angel is a perfect decoration for the tree. Follow our free beading instructions to make your own Christmas ornament.
MATERIALS REQUIRED
- 1 set of angel wings
- 12 x 4mm swarovski bicone crystals
- 1 x 6mm swarovski bicone crystals
- 1 x 20cm, 1 x 30xm & 1 x 60cm beading wire
- 1 hollow filigree metal bead
- 1 x 60mm medium faceted crystal teardrop
TOOLS REQUIRED
- Wire Cutters
- beading glue
INSTRUCTIONS
Pick up your 30cm length of beading wire and thread through the hole in the back of the top of the angel wings, then thread through the hole at the top of the small 8-sided faceted crystal teardrop and through the bottom of the hollow filigree metal bead. The angel wings should now be cradling the crystal teardrop (the body), with the hollow filigree metal bead (the head) sitting on top. Repeat process once more. Bring the ends of the wire together and twist tightly. Continue twisting until you've twisted a 1cm section. Cut off any excess wire, then wrap the twisted section of wire into the back of the hollow filigree metal bead.
Pick up your 20cm length of beading wire and thread on six 4mm swarovski bicone crystals, followed by a 6mm swarovski bicone crystal and then six more 4mm swarovski bicone crystals. Slide the crystals to the middle of the wire, and create a round halo. Bring the two ends of the wire together and twist tightly. Continue twisting until you've twisted a 2cm section. Cut off any excess wire, then twist the twisted section of wire to the top of the hollow filigree metal bead, tucking the ends inside the bead.
Finally, pick up the 60cm length of beading wire. Poke it through the back of the hollow filigree metal bead, and then make a large loop (this is the loop used to hang your angel). Thread the wire back through the back of the hollow filigree metal bead. Bring the two ends of the wire together and twist tightly. Continue twisting until you've twisted a 1cm section. Cut off any excess wire, then twist the twisted section of wire back into the bottom of the hollow filigree metal bead.
Add a dab of clear nail polish between the angel wings and the crystal teardrop to secure and let sit overnight. Your Christmas Angel is now ready to hang on your tree!
