DIY Bluebell Bronze Necklace – Multi-Strand Beaded Project
Bring some ocean-inspired charm to your jewellery collection with this elegant multi-strand necklace featuring a mix of light and dark blue beads, frosted heishi beads, and rich bronze accents. MATERIALS YOU'LL NEED
- 2.5m x tigertail beading wire
- 8 x small tube crimps
- 4 x 6mm strong jump rings
- 8 x crimp covers
- 12 x 3mm plain metal beads
- 140 x 6mm light blue round glass beads
- 37 x 10mm dark blue ridged rondelle beads
- 33 x 7mm blue heishi beads (choose a single colour or mix)
- 66 x small barrel crown metal beads
- 2 x flower toggle clasps
TOOLS REQUIRED
- 2 x Crimping Pliers
- Wire Cutters
STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
Strand 1 (Base Strand)
- Cut a length of tigertail. Thread on a crimp and jump ring. Loop wire back through the crimp and flatten. Trim excess and cover with a crimp cover.
- Add 2 x 3mm metal beads.
- Repeat this pattern 15 times:
- 6mm Light Blue Round
- 10mm Dark Blue Ridged Rondelle
- 6mm Light Blue Round
- Small Barrel Crown Metal Bead
- After the final set, remove the last barrel bead and add 2 x 3mm metal beads.
- Finish with a crimp and jump ring. Loop, flatten, trim, and cover.
Strand 2 (Heishi Bead Accent)
- Cut tigertail, attach to the first jump ring of Strand 1 using a crimp, then hide with a crimp cover.
- Add 2 x 3mm metal beads.
- Repeat this pattern 21 times:
- 6mm Light Blue Round
- 7mm Blue Heishi Bead (choose a single colour or mix)
- 6mm Light Blue Round
- Small Barrel Crown Metal Bead
- Remove the final barrel bead, add 2 x 3mm metal beads.
- Finish with a crimp, threading through the second jump ring of Strand 1. Loop, flatten, trim, and cover.
Strand 3 (Matching the Base Strand)
- Cut tigertail, attach to the first jump ring of Strand 1 with a crimp, cover with a crimp cover.
- Add 2 x 3mm metal beads.
- Repeat the same pattern as Strand 1, but this time 21 times.
- Finish the same way—replace the final barrel bead with 2 x 3mm beads and attach to the second jump ring using a crimp bead (and cover).
Attach Toggle Clasp
- Open a jump ring and connect the flower part of the toggle clasp to one side of the necklace.
- Repeat on the other side with another flower part.
Final Strand
- Cut final length of tigertail. Add crimp and jump ring, loop, flatten, trim, and cover.
- Thread 2 x 3mm beads, then repeat this pattern 12 times:
- 6mm Light Blue Round
- 7mm Blue Heishi Bead
- 6mm Light Blue Round
- Small Barrel Crown Metal Bead
- Omit the final barrel bead. Finish with a crimp and jump ring, then cover the crimp.
- Attach one end to the toggle bar, and the other to the bottom of the flower toggle.
