Easter Egg Nest Brooch: Project Instructions

MATERIALS REQUIRED

• 90cm x 20 gauge beading wire
• blue/green silver foil oval glass beads
• brooch back

TOOLS REQUIRED

• Twirly Wirlie Pliers (for making tight twists)

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Prepare the Wire & Beads

Cut 90cm of wire and thread on your blue-green silverfoil speckled oval glass beads, positioning them at the center of the wire.

Step 2: Form the Nest Base

Bend the wire into a curved shape, bringing the beads together. Twist the wires 2–3 times just below the beads, keeping the twists close and secure.

Step 3: Shape the Nest

Take the twisted section and tuck it underneath so the beads sit on top. Hold the piece securely. Start wrapping the wire around the beads to form a nest shape. Continue wrapping until about 10cm of wire remains on each end.

Step 4: Attach the Brooch Back

• Take one end of the wire and pass it from the top through the center of the nest, guiding it through as you would when sewing.

• While there, pass the wire through one of the holes in the brooch back. Continue guiding the wire through different points of the nest until secure.

• Wrap the wire into the nest to tuck in the end, preventing it from sticking out.

• Repeat with the other wire end, passing it through the second hole in the brooch back, wrapping and securing as needed.

Step 5: Finish & Wear!

Once happy with the shape and security, tuck any remaining wire neatly into the nest. Your beaded nest brooch is ready to wear or gift!
