Create a stunning three-strand necklace featuring deep green twisted glass beads, bronze colored metal findings, and filigree elements. MATERIALS REQUIRED

  • 50 small star bead caps
  • 25 deep green 10mm twisted flat square glass beads
  • 44 plain metal beads
  • 22 rectangular decorative metal beads
  • 3 x 40cm tigertail
  • 6 small crimps
  • 10 x 6mm strong jump rings
  • 6 filigree metal tubes
  • 2 x 5 strand heart drops
  • 2 x 20cm chain (for a finished length of approximately XXcm)
  • 1 filigree circle toggle clasp

TOOLS REQUIRED

  • Twirly Wirlie Pliers
  • Wire Cutters
  • Crimping Pliers

Pattern Repetition

Throughout the necklace, you will repeat the following bead pattern:

  1. Small star bead cap
  2. Twisted flat square glass bead
  3. Small star bead cap
  4. Plain metal bead
  5. Rectangular decorative metal bead
  6. Plain metal bead

INSTRUCTIONS

Strand 1 (Shortest Layer)
  1. Cut one piece of tigertail wire (40cm).
  2. Thread on a small crimp, a jump ring, and loop back through the crimp. Pull tightly and crimp securely. Trim excess wire.
  3. Slide on a filigree metal tube followed by the bead pattern 6 times (total of 6 green glass beads).
  4. Add:
    • 1 small star bead cap
    • 1 twisted flat square glass bead
    • 1 small star bead cap
  5. Finish with a filigree metal tube, a small crimp, a jump ring, and loop back through the crimp. Pull tightly and crimp securely. Trim excess wire.
  6. Open one jump ring and attach it to the first loop of the first heart drop. Close securely.
  7. Open the other jump ring and attach it to the first loop of the second heart drop. Close securely.

Set aside.


Strand 2 (Middle Layer)
  1. Cut another 40cm tigertail wire.
  2. Repeat the same starting steps as in Strand 1.
  3. String the bead pattern 7 times (total of 7 green glass beads).
  4. Add:
    • 1 small star bead cap
    • 1 twisted flat square glass bead
    • 1 small star bead cap
  5. Finish as before, attaching the strand to the second loop of both heart drops using jump rings.

Set aside.


Strand 3 (Longest Layer)
  1. Cut the final 40cm tigertail wire.
  2. Repeat the same starting steps as in Strand 1.
  3. String the bead pattern 8 times (total of 9 green glass beads).
  4. Add:
    • 1 small star bead cap
    • 1 twisted flat square glass bead
    • 1 small star bead cap
  5. Finish as before, attaching the strand to the last loop of both heart drops using jump rings.

Attaching the Chain & Clasp
  1. Open a jump ring and attach it to the top loop of the first heart drop. Before closing, attach one end of the chain. Close securely.
  2. Repeat on the other side.
  3. Open a jump ring and attach it to the other end of the chain, adding the circle part of the toggle clasp. Close securely.
  4. Open the last jump ring, attach it to the other chain end, and add the bar part of the toggle clasp. Close securely.
