Large Glass Crystal Christmas Tree: Project Instructions
This gorgeous Christmas decoration uses glass crystal beads to create a beautiful Christmas tree ornament perfect for the tree. Follow our beading instructions to create your very own beaded Christmas ornament!
MATERIALS REQUIRED
- 48 x 4mm crystal clear bicones
- 48 x 4mm chrysolite green bicones
- 64 x 6mm chrysolite green bicones
- 12 x 4mm siam red bicones
- 1 x 6mm siam red bicone
- 1 x 8mm crystal cube bead
- 13 x 50mm eye pins
- 56 x 50mm head pins
- 1 x 70mm head pin
TOOLS REQUIRED
- OPTIONAL: Beadsmith 1 Step Looper Plooper
- twirlie wirlies
- wire cutters
INSTRUCTIONS
Please Note: If you happen to have a pair of the Beadsmith 1 Step Original Looper "Plooper" you can use these instead of the twirlie wirlies to form the loops in your headpins making the project a lot easier!!!
We are going to start by making all of the components and then we will put it all together at the end.
DROP A
Take a head pin and thread up with:
- a crystal clear 4mm glass bicone
- 3 x chrysolite green 6mm glass bicones
Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the head pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies. Repeat 7 more times (so that you have 8 altogether). Put aside.
DROP B
Take a head pin and thread up with:
- a crystal clear 4mm glass bicone
- a chrysolite green 4mm glass bicone
- 2 x chrysolite green 6mm glass bicones
Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the head pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies. Repeat 5 more times (so that you have 6 altogether). Put aside.
DROP C
Take a head pin and thread up with:
- a crystal clear 4mm glass bicone
- 2 x chrysolite green 6mm glass bicones
Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the head pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies. Repeat 5 more times (so that you have 6 altogether). Put aside.
DROP D
Take a head pin and thread up with:
- a crystal clear 4mm glass bicone
- a chrysolite green 4mm glass bicone
- a chrysolite green 6mm glass bicone
Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the head pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies. Repeat 5 more times (so that you have 6 altogether). Put aside.
DROP E
Take a head pin and thread up with:
- a crystal clear 4mm glass bicone
- 2 x chrysolite green 4mm glass bicones
Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the head pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies. Repeat 5 more times (so that you have 6 altogether). Put aside.
DROP F
Take a head pin and thread up with:
- a crystal clear 4mm glass bicone
- a chrysolite green 4mm glass bicone
Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the head pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies. Repeat 5 more times (so that you have 6 altogether). Put aside.
DROP G
Take a head pin and thread up with:
- a chrysolite green 4mm glass bicone
Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the head pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies. Repeat 5 more times (so that you have 6 altogether). Put aside.
DROP H
Take a eye pin and thread up with:
- a crystal clear 4mm glass bicone
- a chrysolite green 4mm glass bicone
Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the head pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies.
Take a head pin and thread up with:
- a siam red 4mm glass bicone
Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the head pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies.
Open up the loop you just made and attach to the eye pin you threaded up first.
Repeat 1 more time (so that you have 2 altogether). Put aside
DROP I
Take a eye pin and thread up with:
- a crystal clear 4mm glass bicone
- a chrysolite green 4mm glass bicone
- 2 x chrysolite green 6mm glass bicones
Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the head pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies.
Take a head pin and thread up with:
- a siam red 4mm glass bicone
Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the head pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies.
Open up the loop you just made and attach to the eye pin you threaded up first.
Repeat 1 more time (so that you have 2 altogether). Put aside
DROP J

Putting it all together
Thread onto a 70mm headpin:
- 1 x 8mm Crystal AB Swarovski Cube bead
- 8 x Drop A
- 1 x Drop I
- 6 x Drop B
- 1 x Drop I
- 1 x Drop J
- 6 x Drop C
- 1 x Drop J
- 1 x Drop M
- 6 x Drop D
- 1 x Drop M
- 1 x Drop K
- 6 x Drop E
- 1 x Drop K
- 1 x Drop H
- 6 x Drop F
- 1 x Drop H
- 1 x Drop L
- 6 x Drop G
- 1 x Drop L
Thread on a 6mm siam red crystal bicone, leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the head pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies. Make a hook out of an eyepin, open the loop on your hook/eyepin and attach to the loop at the top of your christmas tree. Your Decoration is now ready to hang on the tree!
