Multi Strand Black AB Crystal Necklace: Project Instructions
Whilst relatively simple (this necklace is basically five strands of crystals), the overall effect is quite stunning. We've used 4mm round glass crystals, with heart spacers and a small section of chain at the back. Read on to find out more.
MATERIALS REQUIRED
- 5 x 50cm tigertail
- 10 small crimps
- 2 x 5 strand heart drops
- 10 crimp covers
- 323 x 4mm round faceted glass crystal beads
- 4 x 6mm strong jump rings
- 2 x 15cm chain
- 1 magnetic clasp with loops
TOOLS REQUIRED
- 2 pairs of Crimping Pliers
- Wire Cutters
INSTRUCTIONS
Pick up the first strand of tigertail and thread on a small crimp, through the first hole in the 5 strand heart drop, then thread back through the crimp. Pull up tightly, squish securely and cut off any excess tigertail. Place a crimp cover around the squashed crimp and gently squish into a round ball with your pliers to hide the crimp. Repeat with each strand so that your first 5 strand heart drop has 5 tigertail strands attached.
Onto the first strand, thread on 58 4mm round faceted glass crystals. The thread through a small crimp, through the first hole in the second 5 strand heart drop, then back through the small crimp. Pull up tightly (but leave enough space to put another crimp cover over the crimp) and squish down the small crimp. Cut off any excess tigertail. Place a crimp cover around the squashed crimp and gently squish into a round ball with your pliers to hide the crimp.
Onto the second strand, thread on 60 4mm round faceted glass crystals. The thread through a small crimp, through the second hole in the second 5 strand heart drop, then back through the small crimp. Pull up tightly (but leave enough space to put another crimp cover over the crimp) and squish down the small crimp. Cut off any excess tigertail. Place a crimp cover around the squashed crimp and gently squish into a round ball with your pliers to hide the crimp.
Onto the third strand, thread on 62 4mm round faceted glass crystals. The thread through a small crimp, through the third hole in the second 5 strand heart drop, then back through the small crimp. Pull up tightly (but leave enough space to put another crimp cover over the crimp) and squish down the small crimp. Cut off any excess tigertail. Place a crimp cover around the squashed crimp and gently squish into a round ball with your pliers to hide the crimp.
Onto the fourth strand, thread on 68 4mm round faceted glass crystals. The thread through a small crimp, through the fourth hole in the second 5 strand heart drop, then back through the small crimp. Pull up tightly (but leave enough space to put another crimp cover over the crimp) and squish down the small crimp. Cut off any excess tigertail. Place a crimp cover around the squashed crimp and gently squish into a round ball with your pliers to hide the crimp.
Onto the fifth strand, thread on 75 4mm round faceted glass crystals. The thread through a small crimp, through the fifth hole in the second 5 strand heart drop, then back through the small crimp. Pull up tightly (but leave enough space to put another crimp cover over the crimp) and squish down the small crimp. Cut off any excess tigertail. Place a crimp cover around the squashed crimp and gently squish into a round ball with your pliers to hide the crimp.
Open up one of the strong jump rings (as they are quite strong, you will need two pairs of pliers or a jump ring tool) and thread on one end of one of the pieces of chain. Whilst it is open, thread through the top loop of the first 5 strand heart drop and close securely. Open up another strong jump ring and thread through on one end of the other piece of chain and the top loop of the second 5 strand heart drop, close securely.
Open up another strong jump ring and thread through the other end of the first piece of chain. Whilst it is open, thread on one part of the magnetic clasp, close securely. Open the last strong jump ring and thread though the other end of the second piece of chain. Whilst it is open, thread on the other part of the magnetic clasp, close securely. Your necklace is now ready to wear!
