Ocean Inspired Charm Bracelet: Project Instructions
With blue crystals and glass pearls, and an collection of metal charms (including starfish, mermaids, fish, clams and more), this charm bracelet has a definite ocean feel to it. Techniques used include joining components and turning loops.
MATERIALS REQUIRED
- 18 head pins
- 10 x deep blue 6mm glass pearl beads
- 8 x light sapphire blue 7mm helix glass crystal beads
- 1 x 20cm round link bracelet chain
- 1 turtle metal charm
- 1 angel fish metal charm
- 1 mermaid metal charm
- 1 octopus metal charm
- 1 seahorse metal charm
- 1 open clam shell metal charm
- 1 starfish metal charm
- 26 x 6mm strong jump rings
TOOLS REQUIRED
- Twirly Wirlie Pliers
- 2 x Crimping Pliers
- Wire Cutters
INSTRUCTIONS
Deep Blue Drops
Take a head pin and thread up with:
- an deep blue 6mm glass pearl
Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the head pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies. Repeat 9 more times, so that you have 10 deep blue drops.
Light Sapphire Blue Drops
Take a headpin and thread up with:
- a light sapphire blue 7mm helix glass crystal
Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the head pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies. Repeat 7 more times, so that you have 8 light sapphire drops.
Put it together
Pick up your bracelet chain. Starting at the end with a parrot clasp, thread one of your deep blue drops onto a jump ring and attach to the second link of chain. As the jump rings are strong, you will need two sets of pliers to open them. Repeat, adding a light sapphire drop, followed by another deep blue drop, leaving one link in between.
Next, thread the silver octopus metal charm onto a jump ring and attach to your bracelet, remembering to leave one link in between.
Continue using the following pattern leaving one link in between:
- a light sapphire drop
- a deep blue drop
- silver starfish metal charm
- a light sapphire drop
- a deep blue drop
- silver mermaid metal charm
- a light sapphire drop
- a deep blue drop
- silver turtle metal charm
- a light sapphire drop
- a deep blue drop
- silver seahorse metal charm
- a light sapphire drop
- a deep blue drop
- silver angel fish metal charm
- a light sapphire drop
- a deep blue drop
- silver open clam shell metal
- a deep blue drop
- a light sapphire drop
- a deep blue drop
