Pink Heart Chain Necklace: Project Instructions
Extra large chain makes this necklace stand out from the rest. Techniques involved include working with chain, turning loops, opening rings and more.
MATERIALS REQUIRED
- 11 head pins
- 24 small star bead caps
- 12 x 8mm round faceted glass crystals
- 29 strong jump rings
- 3 large star bead caps
- 3 large heart glass beads
- 3 rope crown metal beads
- 23 links of extra large twisted loop chain (approx 55cm)
- 1 parrot clasp
TOOLS REQUIRED
- Crimping Pliers
- Twirly Wirlie Pliers
- Wire Cutters
INSTRUCTIONS
Crystal Drops
Take a head pin and thread on a small star bead cap, an 8mm round faceted glass crystal bead, followed by another small star bead cap. Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the head pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies. Open a jump ring and attach to the loop you just made. Open another jump ring and attach to the previous jump ring. Repeat this process 11 more times, so that you have 12 crystal drops in total.
Heart Drops
Take a head pin and thread on:
- a large star bead cap
- a large heart glass bead (base down first)
- a rope crown metal bead
Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the head pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies. Open a jump ring and attach to the loop you just made. Repeat this process 2 more times, so that you have 3 heart drops in total. Take a single loop of the extra large twisted loop chain and attach to one of the jump rings attached to the heart drops. Repeat this, so you have one plain heart drop (heart drop A), and two heart drops attached to single links of chain (heart drop B).
Put it together!
Take a 21-loop length of extra large twisted loop chain.
On the 4th loop open the jump ring on one of the crystal drops and attach.
On the 5th loop open the jump ring on one of the crystal drops and attach.
On the 6th loop open the jump ring on one of the crystal drops and attach.
On the 7th loop take one of the heart drops attached to chain (heart drop B) and attach the single piece of chain.
On the 8th loop open the jump ring on one of the crystal drops and attach.
On the 9th loop open the jump ring on one of the crystal drops and attach.
On the 10th loop open the jump ring on one of the crystal drops and attach.
On the 11th loop take the plain heart drop (heart drop A) and attach.
On the 12th loop open the jump ring on one of the crystal drops and attach.
On the 13th loop open the jump ring on one of the crystal drops and attach.
On the 14th loop open the jump ring on one of the crystal drops and attach.
On the 15th loop take the other heart drop that is attached to chain (heart drop B) and attach the single piece of chain.
On the 16th loop open the jump ring on one of the crystal drops and attach.
On the 17th loop open the jump ring on one of the crystal drops and attach.
On the 18th loop open the jump ring on one of the crystal drops and attach.
Open a jump ring, thread on the parrot clasp and attach to the last loop of the length of chain. Close securely. On the other end of the length of chain, open a jump ring and attach. Close securely. Your necklace is now ready to wear!
