Sugar & Flame Lolly Necklace: Project Instructions

MATERIALS REQUIRED

• 5 x 4mm jump rings
• 5 x plain charm drops
• 5 x red/yellow/black lolly glass bead charms
• 2 small crimps
• 30cm tigertail beading wire
• 2 x 8cm lengths of chain
• 2 x crimp covers
• 30 x fire 7mm bicone glass beads (reds, oranges, yellows)
• 1 x 8mm jump ring
• 1 x 17mm parrot clasp

TOOLS REQUIRED

• 2 pairs of Crimping Pliers
• Twirly Wirlie Pliers (Round Nose Pliers)
• Wire Cutters

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS

1. Assemble the Lolly Charm Drops

Using two pairs of pliers, gently open a 4mm jump ring.

• Thread the jump ring through the loop of a plain charm drop and a lolly glass charm.
• Close the jump ring securely.
• Repeat this process until all 5 lolly charms are attached to charm drops.

2. Attach Tigertail to Chain (First Side)

• Thread one crimp onto your 30cm tigertail wire.
• Loop the wire through the end link of one 8cm chain piece.
• Thread the tigertail back through the crimp and pull tight.
• Flatten the crimp with crimping pliers to secure.
• Trim off any excess wire.
• Use pliers to gently close a crimp cover over the flattened crimp for a neat finish.

3. String Your Beads and Charms

Now the fun begins!

• String 5 fire bicone beads in your chosen colour pattern (e.g. yellow–orange–red–orange–yellow).
• Thread the tigertail through the large loop of one of your completed lolly charm drops.
• Repeat the sequence: 5 fire bicones, then a lolly charm—until all 5 lolly charms are added.
• Finish with 5 more bicone beads.

4. Attach Tigertail to Second Chain End

• Add the second large-hole rondelle bead.
• Slide on a crimp, then thread the wire through the last link of your second 8cm chain piece.
• Pass the wire back through the crimp, pull tight, and flatten the crimp.
• Trim any excess wire.
• Close a crimp cover over the squashed crimp.

5. Add Clasp and Finishing Touches

• Open the 8mm jump ring and attach it to one end of the chain. Close securely.
• On the opposite end, open the final link of the chain and attach the parrot clasp. Close securely.
