White/Crystal Shoe Bling: Project Instructions
Bling up an old pair of heels with our shoe bling. Following our instructions, you'll learn how to work with beads, wire and clips to make it yourself.
MATERIALS REQUIRED
- 6 head pins
- 6 teardrop crystal beads
- 12 eye pins
- 20 x 4mm round faceted glass crystal beads
- 20 glass bell flower beads
- 6 x strong jump rings
- 2 x shoe clips
TOOLS REQUIRED
- 2 pairs of Crimping Pliers
- Twirly Wirlies
- Wire Cutters
INSTRUCTIONS
Pick up one of the head pins and thread on a teardrop glass crystal bead. Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the head pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies. Repeat this process another two times so that you have three teardrop crystal head pins.
Pick up one of the eye pins and thread on a 4mm round faceted glass crystal bead. Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the head pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies. Repeat this process another two times so that you have three round crystal eye pins.
Pick up one of the eye pins and thread on a glass bell flower bead. Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the head pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies. Repeat this process another two times so that you have three flower eye pins.
Pick up one of the teardrop crystal head pins and open up the loop you created. Whilst it is open, thread on one of the round crystal eye pins, close securely. Open the loop on the other end of the round crystal eye pin and whilst it is open, thread on one of the flower eye pins (base down), close securely. Repeat this process so that you have three flower/crystal dangles.
Open up the one of the jump rings (and their quite strong, you will need two pairs of pliers or a jump ring tool) and thread through one of the holes on the bottom of the shoe clip (the opposite end from the clip part). Whilst it is still open, thread on one of the flower/crystal dangles. Close securely. Repeat process until you have your three flower/crystal dangles hanging from the bottom of the shoe clip.
Starting from the centre hole on the back of the shoe clip, pass approximately 50mm of wire through the perforated disc and then through the narrow end of one of the glass flowers. Thread on one 4mm round faceted glass crystal bead. Then thread around the crystal and back down through the glass flower until you come out at the back of the perforated disc.
Hold the flower in place with you finger and pass the long length of wire through one of the holes on the edge of the disc. Thread on one glass flower bead, one crystal and then thread around the crystal and back down through the glass flower until you come out at the back of the perforated disc. Gently twist the long tail of wire with the short tail.
Repeat process (threading on the flowers and crystals, then twisting), going in a circular pattern around the edge of the disc (ignoring the row that is taken up with jump rings), going through every second hole. Once you have finished, gently twist the tail of wire against the wire on the back of the disc. Cut off any excess wire.
Repeat this process to make a second shoe clip, so that you have a pair of shoe bling! Easily interchangeable, these fabulous accessories can bling up a plain pair of shoes or give an old pair of shoes a new lease on life.
