Blue Swirl Earrings: Project Instructions

Working with wire, these swirl earrings are just that bit different. Follow our free beading instructions to find out how to make your own today.

MATERIALS REQUIRED

  • 2 eye pins
  • 4 x 3mm plain metal beads
  • 2 medium blue S/L diamond beads
  • 2 x 10cm lengths of 20g blue beading wire
  • 2 x 5cm lengths of 20g blue beading wire
  • 2 ear wires

TOOLS REQUIRED

  • Twirly Wirlie Pliers
  • Wire Cutters
  • Nylon Jaw Pliers

INSTRUCTIONS

Take an eye pin and thread onto it:

  • a 3mm plain metal bead
  • a medium blue S/L diamond bead
  • a 3mm plain metal bead

Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the eye pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies. Put aside.

Pick up one of your lengths of 10cm 20g beading wire and gently wrap it arounf the eyepin between the 3mm plain metal bead and medium blue S/L diamond bead once. Diagonally wrap the wire around the medium blue S/L diamond bead twice, then wrap the 20g wire inbetween the other metal bead and the other end of the medium blue S/L diamond bead. Cut off any excess beading wire.

Pick up one of your lengths of 50cm of 20gauge blue beading wire. Using your twirlie wirlies, gently curl one end of the wire, making the smalest loop possible. Use a pair of nylon jaw pliers and hold the small loop of wire and carefully bend the wire around the small loop, creating a spiral. When you have approximately 10mm of wire left u curled, use your twirly wirlies make a small loop.

Open up one of the loops on your eye pin and attach your spiral. On the other end of the eye pin attach your earwire. Repeat for the second earring. Your earrings are now ready to wear!
