Bronze Crystal Butterfly Earrings: Project Instructions

Swarovski crystals really set these earrings off. Follow our free beading instructions to learn how to make these earrings, featuring filigree butterfly metal beads, chain and crystal.

MATERIALS REQUIRED

  • 2 x 7.5cm tiny twisted chain
  • 6 head pins
  • 2 x 6mm light sapphire swarovski bicones
  • 2 x 6mm pacific opal swarovski bicones
  • 2 x 6mm erinite swarovski bicones
  • 2 eyepins
  • 2 butterfly metal beads
  • 2 standard ear wires

TOOLS REQUIRED

  • Twirly Wirlie Pliers
  • Wire Cutters

INSTRUCTIONS

Cut one of your lengths of chain so that you have:

  • a 2cm piece
  • a 2.5cm piece
  • a 3cm piece

Take a headpin and thread onto it:

  • a 6mm light sapphire swarovski bicone

Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the head pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies. Open the loop you made slightly and attach to the bottom of the 2cm piece of chain. Put aside.

Take a headpin and thread onto it:

  • a 6mm pacific opal swarovski bicone

Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the head pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies. Open the loop you made slightly and attach to the bottom of the 2.5cm piece of chain. Put aside.

Take a headpin and thread onto it:

  • a 6mm erinite swarovski bicone

Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the head pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies. Open the loop you made slightly and attach to the bottom of the 3cm piece of chain. Put aside.

Take aN eyepin and thread onto it:

  • a filigree butterfly metal bead

Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the eye pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies. Open up the loop you just made and attach three lengths of chain with crystals at the bottom. Open up the loop on the other side of the eye pin and attach to the ear wire. Repeat this entire process to make the second earring.
