Looking for a stylish and easy jewellery-making project? This Charmed Elastic Bracelet is the perfect beginner-friendly beading tutorial! Using Japanese-inspired sakura ceramic beads, chain, and elastic cord, you can create a beautiful bracelet that slips on and off with ease—no clasp required.

Whether you're crafting for yourself, making handmade gifts for Mother’s Day, or adding to your market stall collection, this project delivers elegance with minimal tools and effort. The finished design features soft floral details and a charming metal dangle, perfect for fans of delicate accessories and DIY beaded bracelets.

MATERIALS REQUIRED

  • 30cm x 1mm beading elastic
  • 2 x 8.5cm lengths of large chain
  • 11 x 15mm oval sakura ceramic beads (for a 19cm medium bracelet)
  • 1 flower barrel leather drop
  • 1 x 6mm strong jump ring
  • 1 metal charm

TOOLS REQUIRED

  • Wire Cutters
  • 2 x Crimping Pliers
  • clear nail polish

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Prepare the Elastic Cord

Cut 30cm of 1mm beading elastic. Tie a loose temporary knot at one end to stop your beads from sliding off while you work.

Step 2: Thread Your Bracelet Components

On the open end of the elastic, thread on the following in order:

  • First 8.5cm length of chain, weaving the elastic in and out of each link
  • 11 x sakura ceramic beads
  • Second 8.5cm length of chain, again weaving through each link
  • Flower barrel leather drop

Step 3: Tie and Secure the Bracelet

Untie the temporary knot. Bring the two ends of the elastic together and pull tight to form a secure, snug bracelet.

Tie a firm balloon-style knot, and repeat the knot two to three times to strengthen it.

Step 4: Add the Charm

Open your strong jump ring using two pairs of pliers. Attach it through the loop at the base of the leather drop, and through the loop on your charm. Close the jump ring securely.

Step 5: Seal the Knot

Add a small dab of clear nail polish or jewellery glue to the knot. Let it dry completely. Trim off any excess elastic.

Your Handmade Bracelet is Complete!

Congratulations! You’ve created a gorgeous, stretchy charm bracelet with beautiful floral beads and a stylish charm detail. This easy elastic bracelet project is ideal for beginner jewellery makers and perfect for gifting or selling.
