Charmed Elastic Bracelet: Project Instructions

Charmed Elastic Bracelet: Project Instructions

Use chain and these Japanese inspired "sakura" ceramic beads to create an elegant yet simple bracelet. Strung on beading elastic, pulling your bracelet on and off is as easy as can be.

MATERIALS REQUIRED

  • 30cm x 1mm beading elastic
  • 2 x 8.5cm lengths of large chain
  • 16 x 10mm round sakura ceramic beads
  • 1 flower barrel leather drop
  • 1 x 6mm strong jump ring
  • 1 metal charm

TOOLS REQUIRED

  • Wire Cutters
  • 2 x Crimping Pliers
  • clear nail polish

INSTRUCTIONS

note: these quantities make an 21cm (medium) bracelet. To make a shorter bracelet, simply add less beads. Our bracelet was made with purple sakura ceramic beads and nickel coloured findings.

Pick up your piece of beading elastic and tie a loose knot in one end. On the other end, thread on:

one of lengths of chain, threading in and out of each of the links

  • 16 x 10mm round purple sakura ceramic beads
  • the second length of chain, threading in and out of each of the links
  • the flower barrel leather drop

Untie the loose knot from before, then bring the two ends of the elastic together and pull up tightly, making sure the bracelet is tight. Tie a knot as if you're tying a balloon. Repeat the knot several times. Open up the jump ring (as it is quite strong, you will need to use two pairs of pliers). Thread it through the loop on the bottom of the leather drop, and also through the loop at the top of the charm, close securely. Finish by adding a dab of clear nail polish or glue to the knot. Once dry, cut off any excess beading elastic. Your bracelet is now ready to wear!
