Duo Brown/Blue Simple Necklace: Project Instructions

Duo Brown/Blue Simple Necklace: Project Instructions

When we saw this fabulous duo coloured glass pendants, we just had to make them into a project. This simple necklace, featuring both blue and brown beads sets them off perfectly!

MATERIALS REQUIRED

  • 24 x 6mm rondelle glass crystal beads
  • 47 x 3mm plain metal beads
  • 24 x 7mm helix glass crystal beads
  • 60 cm of tigertail
  • 2 small crimps
  • 2 strong jump rings
  • 2 crimp covers
  • 1 glass pendant
  • 2 head pins
  • 1 strong magnetic clasp

TOOLS REQUIRED

  • 2 pairs of Crimping Pliers
  • Twirly Wirlie Pliers
  • Wire Cutters

INSTRUCTIONS

The pattern

  • a 6mm rondelle glass crystal bead
  • a 3mm plain metal bead bead
  • a 7mm helix glass crystal bead
  • a 3mm plain metal bead bead

Putting it together

Take the piece of tigertail and thread through a small crimp. Thread through a jump ring, then back through the crimp. Pull up tightly, squish down your crimp and cut off any excess tigertail. Place a crimp cover around the squashed crimp and gently squish into a round ball with your pliers to hide the crimp.

Thread onto your strand:

  • the pattern (as above) 12 times

Next, thread on your glass pendant.

Complete your necklace by threading on:

  • a 7mm helix glass crystal bead
  • a 3mm plain metal bead bead
  • the pattern (as above) 12 times
  • a 6mm rondelle glass crystal bead

Thread the end of your tigertail through a small crimp. Thread through a jump ring, then back through the crimp. Pull up tightly (but leave enough space to put another crimp cover over the crimp) and squish down the small crimp. Cut off any excess tigertail. Place a crimp cover around the squashed crimp and gently squish into a round ball with your pliers to hide the crimp.

Thread one of the head pins through one side of the magnetic clasp, so that the 'head' sits against the larger hole. Leaving a gap of 10mm, cut off the excess head pin. Twirl a loop. Repeat with the other side of the magnetic clasp. Open up one of the jump rings (as these are quite strong, you will need two pairs of pliers or a jump ring tool) and attach through the loop in the head pin. Close securely. Repeat with the other jump ring and the other side of the magnetic clasp. Your necklace is now ready to wear!
