Grey/Blue Tear Drop Shell Necklace: Project Instructions

We've used grey/blue tear drop shaped MOP shell to give this necklace a different look. Teamed with curved metal tubes and glass crystals, this project involves crimping, stringing and more.

MATERIALS REQUIRED

  • 32 x 3mm plain metal beads
  • 2 rope crown metal beads
  • 16 x 6mm bicone glass crystal beads
  • 9 plain curved metal tubes
  • 2 small tube crimps
  • 50cm tigertail
  • 1 parrot clasp
  • 2 x 6mm strong jump rings
  • 8 shell tear drop beads

TOOLS REQUIRED

  • Twirly Wirlie Pliers
  • Wire Cutters
  • Crimping Pliers

INSTRUCTIONS

Thread a small crimp, followed by a jump ring, onto your tigertail. Thread the tigertail back through the crimp, pull up tightly and squish the crimp down. Cut off any excess tigertail. Thread on one of the rope crown metal beads. Next, thread on:

  • a plain curved metal tube
  • a plain metal bead
  • a 6mm bicone glass crystal bead
  • a plain metal bead
  • a shell tear drop bead
  • a plain metal bead
  • a 6mm bicone glass crystal bead
  • a plain metal bead

Repeat pattern 7 more times, until you have 8 shell tear drop beads on your strand (make sure the shell tear drop beads are facing the same direction). Thread one more plain curved metal tube on, and finish with a rope crown metal bead. Thread a small crimp, followed by a jump ring, onto your tigertail. Thread the tigertail back through the crimp, pull up tightly and squish the crimp down. Cut off any excess tigertail.

On one end of the strand, open up the attached jump ring, thread on the parrot clasp. Close securely. Your necklace is now complete and ready to wear.
