Jingle Bell Christmas Earrings: Project Instructions

Jingle Bell Christmas Earrings: Project Instructions

Jingle all the way to the Christmas dance with these fun earrings! Featuring red and green bells, this project mainly involves the technique of opening and closing jump rings. Follow our instructions to make them yourself.

MATERIALS REQUIRED

  • 16 head pins
  • 8 x red 8mm round faceted glass crystal beads
  • 8 x green 8mm round faceted glass crystal beads
  • 20 x 6mm strong jump rings
  • 2 x red jingle bells
  • 2 x green jingle bells
  • 2 standard earwires

TOOLS REQUIRED

  • Twirly Wirlie Pliers
  • Wire Cutters
  • 2 x Crimping Pliers

INSTRUCTIONS

Take a headpin and thread onto it:

  • an 8mm round glass crystal bead

Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the head pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies. Repeat with all of the glass crystals, so that you have 16 crystal drops.

Open up one of the jump rings using your pliers (as these are quite strong jump rings, you will need to use two sets of pliers). Whilst it is open, thread on a red crystal drop. Close the jump ring securely. Open up another jump ring, thread on a green jingle bell. Whilst it is still open, thread through the first jump ring and close securely. Repeat this process (adding an element, and joining to the last ring added), in this order:

  • red crystal drop
  • green crystal drop
  • red jingle bell
  • green crystal drop
  • red crystal drop
  • green crystal drop
  • red crystal drop
  • green crystal drop

Finally, open up the last jump ring added (the one with the green crystal drop attached) and thread on an earwire. Close securely. Repeat to make the second earring. Your jingle bell Christmas earrings are now ready to wear!
