Pearl Eye Glasses Chain: Project Instructions

Pearl Eye Glasses Chain: Project Instructions

Never lose your glasses again! Make your own beaded glasses chain - we're working with glass pearls, but don't let your imagination stop you. Our glasses chain has been made on tigertail, and works with crimps, jump rings and eye glass holders.

MATERIALS REQUIRED

  • 70cm tigertail
  • 2 small crimps
  • 2 x 6mm strong jump rings
  • 2 large holed metal beads
  • 110 x 4mm glass pearl beads
  • 42 x 3mm plain metal beads
  • 21 x 6mm glass pearl beads
  • 2 eye glass holders

TOOLS REQUIRED

  • Twirly Wirlie Pliers
  • Wire Cutters
  • Crimping Pliers

INSTRUCTIONS

Take your piece of tigertail and thread on a small crimp, followed by the jump ring. Thread the tigertail over the jump ring and back through the crimp. Crimp down tightly and cut off any excess tigertail. Thread on a large holed metal bead (to hide the crimp), followed by:

  • 5 x 4mm glass pearl beads
  • a 3mm plain metal bead
  • a 6mm glass pearl bead
  • a 3mm plain metal bead

Repeat this pattern until you are happy with the length of your glasses chain (we repeated the pattern 21 times). Finish by threading on:

  • 5 x 4mm glass pearl beads
  • a large holed metal bead

Thread on another crimp, followed by the jump ring. Thread the tigertail over the jump ring and back through the crimp. Pull up tightly, then squish the crimp securely. Cut off any excess tigertail.

Open up one of the jump rings and attach the eye glass holder, close the ring securely. Repeat with the other side. Your beaded glasses chain is now ready to use, simply attach your glasses and you're ready to go!
