Purple Crystal and Rose Earrings: Project Instructions

Purple crystal, glass pearl and metal flowers make these earrings stand out. This project involves twisting wire, working with chain and more - follow our instructions to find out how to make it yourself.

MATERIALS REQUIRED

  • 6 x 6mm tanzanite rondelle glass crystals
  • 10 x 6mm crystal AB rondelle glass crystals
  • 12 x 4mm lavender glass pearls
  • 6 x 4mm tanzanite round faceted crystals
  • 2 x 4 link lengths of small twisted chain
  • 2 x 20cm lengths of 28 gauge beading wire
  • 2 x 25mm closed rings
  • 2 medium aluminium roses
  • 2 x 6mm strong jump rings
  • 2 standard earwires

TOOLS REQUIRED

  • 2 x Crimping Pliers
  • Wire Cutters
  • 2 headpins

INSTRUCTIONS

Take a headpin and thread onto it:

  • a 6mm tanzanite crystal rondelle

Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the head pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies. Put aside.

Take a headpin and thread onto it:

  • a 6mm crystal AB crystal rondelle

Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the head pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies. Put aside.

Take a headpin and thread onto it:

  • a 4mm lavender glass pearl

Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the head pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies. Put aside.

Take a headpin and thread onto it:

  • a 4mm tanzanite round faceted crystal

Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the head pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies. Put aside.

Take one of your lengths of chain and on the first loop attach your the headpin drop with the 6mm tanzanite crystal rondelle you just made. On the second loop, attach your the headpin drop with the 4mm lavender glass pearl you just made. On the thrid loop, attach the headpin drop with the 4mm tanzanite round faceted crystal you just made. On the last loop, attach your the headpin drop with the 6mm clear AB crystal rondelle you just made. Put aside for now.

Pick up one of your lengths of beading wire and wrap it around your 25mm closed ring 3 times.

  • thread on a 6mm tanzanite rondelle glass crystal, then wrap the wire around the closed ring once.
  • thread on a 4mm lavender glass pearl, then wrap the wire around the closed ring once.
  • thread on a 6mm crystal AB rondelle glass crystal, then wrap the wire around the closed ring once.
  • thread on a 4mm tanzanite round faceted glass crystal, then wrap the wire around the closed ring once.
  • thread on a 4mm lavender glass pearl, then wrap the wire around the closed ring once.
  • thread on a 6mm crystal AB rondelle glass crystal, then wrap the wire around the closed ring once.
  • thread on one of your lavender medium aluminium roses, then wrap the wire around the closed ring twice.
  • thread on your length of chain with the crystal pearl drops and position it under the aluminium rose and then wrap the wire around the closed ring once.
  • thread on a 6mm crystal AB rondelle glass crystal, then wrap the wire around the closed ring once.
  • thread on a 4mm lavender glass pearl, then wrap the wire around the closed ring once.
  • thread on a 4mm tanzanite round faceted glass crystal, then wrap the wire around the closed ring once.
  • thread on a 6mm crystal AB rondelle glass crystal, then wrap the wire around the closed ring once.
  • thread on a 4mm lavender glass pearl, then wrap the wire around the closed ring once.
  • thread on a 6mm tanzanite rondelle glass crystal, then wrap the wire around the closed ring three times.

Open up the 6mm strong jump ring (as they are quite strong, you will need two pairs of pliers), attach the standard ear wire and close. Repeat to finish off your second earring.
