Rose Purple Cats Eye 4 Strand Bracelet: Project Instructions

Rose Purple Cats Eye 4 Strand Bracelet: Project Instructions

Cats eyes beads are made using a method that uses fibre optics to cause the white reflective circles that are representative of gemstone cats eye beads. This two strand bracelet features glass cats eye beads and multi strand spacer beads.

MATERIALS REQUIRED

  • 4 x 30cm tigertail
  • 1 toggle clasp
  • 8 small crimps
  • 8 crimp covers
  • 56 x 6mm cats eye beads (out of stock)
  • 3 strong jump rings
  • 2 five strand filigree bar ends
  • 14 three strand fancy filigree spacers

TOOLS REQUIRED

  • Twirly Wirlie Pliers
  • Wire Cutters
  • Crimping Pliers

INSTRUCTIONS

Take one of the pieces of tigertail and thread on a crimp. Thread through the top hole in the five strand filigree bar and then back through the crimp. Squash the crimp and cut off any excess wire. Squish a crimp cover over the crimp. This will be strand 1 (S1).

Take the next piece of tigertail and thread on a crimp. Thread through the 2nd hole in the five strand filigree bar and then back through the crimp. Squash the crimp and cut off any excess wire. Squish a crimp cover over the crimp. This will be strand 2 (S2).

Take the next piece of tigertail and thread on a crimp. Thread through the 4th hole in the five strand filigree bar and then back through the crimp. Squash the crimp and cut off any excess wire. Squish a crimp cover over the crimp. This will be strand 3 (S3).

Take the next piece of tigertail and thread on a crimp. Thread through the bottom hole in the five strand filigree bar and then back through the crimp. Squash the crimp and cut off any excess wire. Squish a crimp cover over the crimp. This will be strand 4 (S4).

Now thread a decorative metal bead with a large hole onto each strand. Next, thread the following onto their respective strands:

S1:

  • a 6mm cats eye beads
  • left-hand side of the three strand fancy filigree spacer (FS1)

S2:

  • a 6mm cats eye bead
  • right-hand side of the above three strand fancy filigree spacer (FS1)

S3:

  • a 6mm cats eye bead
  • left-hand side of the three strand fancy filigree spacer (FS2)

S4:

  • a 6mm cats eye beads
  • right-hand side of the above three strand fancy filigree spacer (FS2)

Now thread on:

S1:

  • 4 6mm cats eye beads
  • left-hand side of a three strand fancy filigree spacer (FS4)

S2:

  • a 6mm cats eye bead
  • left-hand side of the three strand fancy filigree spacer (FS3)
  • a 6mm cats eye bead
  • right-hand side of a three strand fancy filigree spacer (FS4)

S3:

  • a 6mm cats eye bead
  • right-hand side of the above three strand fancy filigree spacer (FS3)
  • a 6mm cats eye bead
  • left-hand side of a three strand fancy filigree spacer (FS5)

S4:

  • 4 6mm cats eye beads
  • right-hand side of a three strand fancy filigree spacer (FS5)

Repeat the above pattern another 3 times, so that you have 14 three strand fancy filigree spacers on your bracelet. Finish by threading one more 6mm cats eye bead onto each strand.

Now thread a small crimp onto each strand. Take S1 and thread through the top hole in the second five strand filigree bar end. Thread back through the crimp, pull tight and crimp down. Cut off any excess tigertail. Repeat for each strand, making sure you thread the right strand through the right hole (skipping the middle hole). Squish a crimp cover over each of the crimps.

Open up one of the jump rings (as they are quite strong, you will need to use 2 sets of pliers, your crimping pliers and twirly wirlies will be fine) and thread on one of the five strand filigree bar ends and the circle part of the toggle clasp. Close the jump ring securely. Open up another jump ring and thread onto the other five strand filigree bar end, close securely. Open the last jump ring, add the bar part of the toggle clasp, join to the other jump ring and close securely.
