Thick Diamante Bling Dog Lead: Project Instructions

Thick Diamante Bling Dog Lead: Project Instructions

What pampered pooch doesn't need their very own bling lead? Using flat suede and host stick diamantes, our instructions tell you just how to make it yourself!

MATERIALS REQUIRED

  • 1 large swivel parrot clasp
  • 2 large material/leather crimps
  • 1 metre 8mm flat suede
  • approx 200 x 4mm A-grade hot stick glass crystals

TOOLS REQUIRED

  • 2 pairs of Crimping Pliers
  • household iron or applicator wand

INSTRUCTIONS

Pick up a large material/leather crimp and thread onto the end of the suede. Whilst it's still open, make a loop with the suede (approximately 30cm in size) and thread the suede back through the large crimp. Crimp both sides down, pressing down hard to secure the crimp.

At the other end of the suede, thread on the second large crimp, followed by the large swivel parrot clasp. Thread the end of the suede back through the large crimp, making sure that the very end of the suede is hidden under the crimp. Crimp both sides down, pressing down hard to secure the crimp.

Lay the suede flat on the table and put 10 hot stick crystals in place along the suede. You can place them any distance apart, and in any pattern (we placed ours approximately 5mm apart). Use an applicator wand or the tip of a household iron to melt the backing glue of the crystals onto the suede, doing one at a time. Repeat until you are happy with the number of crystals on your lead, ensuring you decorate both sides.

Your beautiful bling dog lead is now ready to use on your favourite pooch - whether for a dog show or just to show off on your walk around the block, these popular leads look great!
