Description
40cm strand (approximately 60 beads) of larvikite round beads, each bead is approximately 6.5mm x 6.5mm, hole size is average (approximately 1mm).
Larvikite is an opaque feldspar gemstone composed of all three endmember feldspars. Alternating layers of alkali fledspar and plagioclase give the characteristic silver blue sheen (labradorescence). It is also known as black labradorite, Norwegian moonstone and blue pearl granite. Larvikite is named for the town of Larvik in Norway.
These stunning beads have a black/grey base with a large flecks of feldspar giving a moonstone-like sheen. They are opaque (light does not pass through).
Larvikite is believed to maintain youthfulness. It is also said to help centre and focus the mind and spirit, making it especially popular to use when meditating.
Please note that colours and sizes within semi-precious gemstones vary slightly from strand to strand.
