Green/Yellow Frog Bracelet: Project Instructions
Is it time-consuming? Yes. Is it worth it? Absolutely!
Create your own stunning frog charm bracelet featuring whimsical glass frog beads and green-toned glass accents. This project is perfect for practicing wire loops while making a truly unique piece of jewellery.
By working with a pre-made chain bracelet base, you’ll save time while achieving a polished look. The bronze-coloured findings add a vintage touch, making this bracelet a standout accessory.
MATERIALS REQUIRED
- 6 x Frog Glass Beads
- 21 x 11mm Green Diamond Glass Beads
- 27 x 3mm Plain Metal Beads
- 27 x 6mm Strong Jump Rings
- 27 x Head Pins
- 1 x Chain Bracelet (with pre-attached parrot clasp)
TOOLS REQUIRED
- Twirly Wirlie Pliers (for looping)
- Wire Cutters
- Crimping Pliers
STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1: Creating the Frog Bead Drops
- Take a head pin and thread on:
- a plain metal bead
- a frog glass bead (positioned "bottom down")
- Leave 10mm of space at the top, then trim off the excess with wire cutters.
- Using Twirly Wirlie Pliers, create a loop at the top of the bead.
- Repeat this process for all six frog beads.
Set aside.
Step 2: Creating the Green Glass Bead Drops
- Take a head pin and thread on:
- a plain metal bead
- a green diamond glass bead
- Leave 10mm of space, trim the excess, and form a loop at the top using pliers.
- Repeat this process until you have 21 bead drops.
Set aside.
Step 3: Attaching the Beads to the Chain
- Open a jump ring using two pliers (since they are strong, we recommend using crimping pliers and twirly wirlie pliers).
- While open, slide on one glass bead drop, then attach it to the chain bracelet by securing it to a link.
- Close the jump ring securely.
- Repeat this process, adding beads to every second link, until you have three glass bead drops attached.
- Now, open another jump ring, slide on one frog bead drop, and attach it to the chain.
- Close the jump ring securely.
Continue this pattern:
✔ Three glass bead drops → One frog bead drop
✔ Repeat until you reach the end of the bracelet, finishing with three glass bead drops.
