Christmas Wine Glass Charms: Project Instructions

Use these Christmas themed wine charms to keep your drinks separate at your next party! These charms feature a santa, a glass holly, a glass snowman, a glass christmas tree and glass pearls. Techniques covered include turning loops and stringing.

MATERIALS REQUIRED

  • 8 loops of ring memory wire
  • 12 x 8mm green glass pearl beads
  • 12 x 8mm red glass pearl beads
  • 20 x 3mm plain metal beads
  • 8 x 6mm strong jump rings
  • 1 santa glass charm
  • 1 holly glass charm
  • 1 snowman glass charm
  • 1 christmas tree glass charm

TOOLS REQUIRED

  • Crimping Pliers
  • Twirly Wirlies
  • Memory Wire Cutters

INSTRUCTIONS

Pick up the ring memory wire and cut it down to about 2 loops. As the wire is hardened, you will need to use stronger cutters, such as our memory wire cutters. Turn a loop on one end, so that it is completely closed. As it is a hardened wire, you'll need to use a little strength.

Thread onto your memory wire:

  • an 8mm glass pearl bead
  • a 3mm plain metal bead

Repeat this process (we alternated reds and greens) until you have 5 metal beads on your wire. Finish with one more glass pearl bead. Leave a gap of 8mm and cut off the excess wire. Loop over the end of the memory wire, so that none of the beads will fall off.

Open up one of the jump rings and attach to one of the loops on the end of the memory wire, then close securely. Open up another jump ring and thread onto the previous jump ring. Whilst it's open, also thread on one of the glass charms, then close securely.

Repeat this process to make 4 different wine charms. These charms are perfect for adding to the stem of a wine or champagne glass, to designate everyones drink. Make sure they are removed before glasses are washed however, as the water is damaging to the beads.
